Our approach
MatchShock aims to correct material factual errors as soon as they are identified and verified.
What may be corrected
Corrections can include names, scores, statistics, dates, quotes, transfer status, event details, attribution and other factual information.
Updates versus corrections
A developing story may change because new information becomes available. That is an update. A correction is made when information previously published was materially inaccurate.
Transparency
When a correction materially changes the meaning of an article, MatchShock aims to make that change clear rather than silently rewriting the record.
