Manchester United defender Luke Shaw could leave Old Trafford at the end of the season, according to newspaper reports carried by Sky Sports.
Sky Sports' Paper Talk roundup cites the Daily Mail, which reports that there is currently no indication of contract discussions between Manchester United and the 31-year-old England defender.
Shaw entering final year of Manchester United deal
Shaw's current Manchester United contract runs until 30 June 2027.
The defender signed his latest four-year deal in 2023, extending his stay at Old Trafford after joining the club from Southampton in 2014.
That means Shaw is now in the final season of his existing agreement.
Manchester United have considered left-back options
Manchester United have already been linked with possible long-term replacements at left-back.
Sky Sports reported in August that the club had made an enquiry for Newcastle defender Lewis Hall, although Newcastle made it clear that the player was not for sale at the time.
Shaw nevertheless remains part of the United squad and has featured during the 2026/27 season. Manchester United's own records show him starting against Hull City in August.
No official decision announced
There has been no official announcement from Manchester United or Shaw confirming that he will leave the club.
The current report should therefore be treated as transfer speculation rather than confirmation of a departure.
With Shaw's contract due to expire next summer, his future is likely to remain a subject of discussion unless a new agreement is reached.
